NEW: NEED YOUR HELP FOR FINALS FUEL FALL 2025 - DECEMBER 17 & 19
Many thanks to those of you who have signed up and donated snacks so far. We are in December and there are still many great items needed from our wish list to keep our students fueled for finals. With just two weeks to go, we are far behind our typical snack donation pace and could use the help of those who can afford to donate. Please contribute what you can today.
Finals Fuel is a wonderful Campo tradition during Finals Week when Campo Parents fund and distribute ~10,000 snacks to hungry and grateful students between their final exams. We are a 100% Parent-supported activity and we need your help! Here’s how: purchase snacks directly from Amazon. Donate $ via Venmo: @David-Harrison-154, or PayPal: david_harrison@yahoo.com, and/or Sign-up to bring drinks or distribute snacks to students on campus!
NEW: SMC LIBRARY CLOSURE IMPACTS CAMPO STUDENTS
The Saint Mary's College of California Library will close for a full renovation starting December 19, 2025, and is not scheduled to reopen until Fall 2027. Due to the significant reduction in space at the Library's temporary on-campus location, Campo students (and others from AUHSD) will unfortunately no longer have access to a comparable, local study space during the entire renovation period.
PARENTING IN THE DIGITAL AGE - DECEMBER 4, 10:00AM, LAFAYETTE LIBRARY
Join Teen Esteem+ for a FREE parent education event at the Lafayette Library on December 4 at 10 AM. This session offers practical strategies from experts (psychologists, therapists, teachers, and students) for parents and caregivers. Discussion will cover the impact of smartphones/social media on mental health, online struggles, and implementing a family tech plan (including insights from The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt). For more information, contact the Director of Programs at julie@teenesteem.org.
CAMPOLINDO PARENT ED NIGHT: GUIDING TEENS THROUGH JANUARY BLUES
Join us for a virtual event, Tuesday, 12/9/2025, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, focused on helping teens navigate the difficult transition back to school after winter break, commonly known as the "post-holiday blues." Our Expert Panel will share practical strategies on:
- Understanding the phenomenon: Why the return from break is challenging for teens (due to disrupted sleep, academic pressure, and shorter days).
- Warning Signs: Recognizing when adjustment becomes concerning.
- Prevention & Coping: Strategies and evidence-based tools teens can use.
- Support: Creating helpful home environments and knowing when to seek professional help.
This is a great opportunity to connect with Lamorinda mental health experts (Chelsea Wetherell, Debora McManus, and Karen Erickson) and build your toolkit for supporting your teen's success and mental health. RSVP to receive the Zoom link (emailed 12/8/2025).
CAMPOLINDO ANNUAL CANNED FOOD DRIVE
The Campolindo Canned Food Drive runs through December 10. This year's canned food drive has come at a time when our neighbors are really in need. Whilst the government shutdown is over, the hold on SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits is having lasting impacts for some families in our community. Our local food banks are critical, which is why Campolindo will continue to partner with the Contra Costa and Solano County Foodbank to help our community. All donations help. This is a classroom competition between the students’ 5th-period classes, so if you would like to include your child’s class in the comment box on the first page, it would be greatly appreciated! DONATE HERE!
